Drink IPA

This blog is a tribute to one of the best ales in the world. It will serve as an archive and guide to the beers I sample. Hopefully this will inspire a few of you to step into the delicious world of IPA.

Thanks for taking a look and enjoy.
New Glarus Brewing Co. - IIPA

A few things I’d like to mention about this Brewery. First, they are very exclusive and by that I mean that their beer basically doesn’t make it out of the state of Wisconsin. That is, unless you have a Midwest Connection. Yet again, a much appreciated beer mail beer from none other than The Beer Jerk.

Some things to mention about this beer:
1. This is a “very limited edition beer, and we make no promises to ever brew this style again”
2. 85 IBUs
3. 9.75% ABV
4. Maris Otter make up the “essential heart of this voluptuous double IPA”
5. Hops: East Kent Golding, Cascade, Tomahawk, Warrior and Chinook

So what does it taste like? The first words out of my mouth were “wow, oh wow, holy shit”. There isn’t a single flaw within this beer. It’s impeccably balanced, despite the hop bill, it’s all tropical fruity hop aroma and the flavor transition moves effortlessly into a clean bitterness.
After the first sip, I could almost swear there was Nelson Sauvin in there. There isn’t, yet somehow they achieved those tropical fruit sweet savuion grape hop characteristics without them.

All you need to know is that this is perfection in a bottle. It’s for sure one of THE BEST IPAs Double IPAs I’ve had in a very long time, if not ever. This is for sure top on the list.

Dear Dan & Deb,

Please make this beer again!

Love,

Drink IPA

Bottom Line: DRINK IT! DRINK IT! DRINK IT! Perfection in a bottle.
