Drink IPA

This blog is a tribute to one of the best ales in the world. It will serve as an archive and guide to the beers I sample. Hopefully this will inspire a few of you to step into the delicious world of IPA.

Thanks for taking a look and enjoy.
Lagunitas - Day Time IPA

A late summer early fall release of a session IPA? Why the hell not!

Appearance is a very pale yellow in color with a fine white head.

The aroma is like a toned down version of their standard IPA, juicy, piney, and dry. The taste is very nice, clean, and light in the mouth. Day Time is quite tasty if you like hops. The malts are hardly present in this beer, however, the fine hop profile you’d expect from Lagunitas is on point. Pine and some bitter citrus are the two main flavors. This beer makes me wish summer wasn’t coming to and end.

Some might think this beer is plain and one dimensional and to be honest it sort of is… but if you’re a hop head like me and you don’t always want an IPA that is 6% or more; this is no doubt worth your time if you come across it.

Overall this is a solid session IPA and it’s welcome in my rotation any day. However, I still like the Founders All Day IPA more.

Bottom Line: Pale, Slight Floral, Herbal, Dry, Bitter Citrus, Clean, Drink It!

  1. deanisms said: Great review! Founders All Day is no longer going to be offered all year round. It’s only available until the end of Sept. 2012, and then will be released again in March 2013. Founders decided to make it a Seasonal. Stock up while you can! Cheers!
